About me

I'm Margi, and I am finally having my well-deserved gap year. A bit later than most, maybe, but I don't believe there is an age limit to following dreams, is there?

While I was in my twenties and thirties, and even my very early forties, I assumed that I would be funding the year of travels from years of savings.

Ha ha ha

Things didn't quite work out that way, so I am working as a live in carer for three weeks every month, and using the fourth week to go exploring. England and beyond, here I come.

This decision came to me (over a mojito, of course) early May 2014. By the end of July I had given nearly everything I own away, and left Cape Town for England.

This is a log of my adventures, whether a walk in the country, a jaunt in Turkey or Spain, a road trip, wherever I manage to get to. I may even include the odd pub lunch, seeing as those will be rare treats. It is a personal photo album for me and my family and friends. To keep me going when the caring gets me down... as it may do occasionally...
